Just two little things I picked up a couple of days ago…
Was surprised at how big SD Raiser’s box is. It’s the size of a regular HG 1/144! I think that’s the biggest I’ve ever seen for a SD model ^^;
Picked up May’s issue of Dengeki Hobby just for the Astray stickers and the Gunpla Parts Separator. The separator is basically just a board made of the same yellow plastic from the RX-78-2 models with a wedge to pry open whatever you want. Hope I don’t have to use this tool too much; you must suck at following directions if you have to use this a few times for one model. The board will definitely make a great sanding stick though! ^^
Seems like I might disappear over the weekend again…

Hihi..are u in HK?

I got the parts separator from MG gundam 2.0. it’s color is blue

I got one of those parts separators from MG Turn A, if I remember right. Comes in pretty handy when your mind is on other things while gunpla-ing and you forget to put in a polycap or mess up the direction of a part or something :) Be careful though; since it is the same type of plastic as the kits, it will eventually get chewed up on the pointy end. I had to sand my down to get a smooth point again.

Wow Z, if i recall, i think you have SD 00 before. :D
And yeah, maybe it’s the biggest SD Box, second is SD strike+striker packs system if you don’t count Musha. :D
Hey, what’s with Parts separator? I even don’t know that exist. Haha. XD
April 24, 2009 at 5:41 AM
Wow, what a wast of plastic that thing ;) Nothing beats my finger nails or a knife…
In wonder if that wedge part is sharp enough to pry open the parts… And that SD looks huge. Looking forward to your review :D

Astray stickers for the PG one?
A little off topic but could I use some of your gunpla pictures for a blog post I’m about to do? I’ll give credits to you of course..
April 24, 2009 at 7:05 AM
Like you, I also got SD 00 Gundam too, and I was debating whether to get this just for 0 Raiser and GN Sword II effect parts, since that box art always tempted me to buy.

Lawrance, nah… I’m in the states
Mendagu, I never got the model separator from the model kits despite pre-ordering ;_;
Zircor, Yea.. don’t think I’ll be using it as a parts separator but as a sanding board. Seems more useful for that purpose.
Eyeshield, the 00 Gundam can certainly become a testbed :)
Pim, my knife usually snaps when I use it to pry open parts xD
Mkuain, yea the stickers are for the PG. And yea, you’re welcome to use my photos for your blog post ^^.
Chris, I think the beam effects part is all worth it. It’s not much heavier than 00 Gundam and only cost $2 more roughly.

Is the SD 00 Raiser one of the most expensive and biggest regular SD Gundam out there?
OT: From what I’ve observed, the first person who commented has been going around a lot of blogs asking whether anyone’s going to the C3 Hobby in Hong Kong as he seems to be desperate trying to the event limited Clear MG Destiny.

A few years ago I was quite into SD’s, now I like 1/100 more. I am thinking about transfer to completed figures though coz I just have no time to actually model by myself.
Talk about HK, I lived there for a while and damn I love that city. And it’s paradise for toys (not to mention JP :D)!

No pushing, but I am expecting your WIP for PG Astray lol
I am gonna go for a PG strike for the summer break, it seems more posable and I can wait for a deal for PG Astray, they both seem great.

uh oh! he’s buying gundams again! haha

Thanks for the permission.. ^^

Those part separaters are handy for applying dry-transfer decals too, or at least that’s what I mainly use mine for…
April 24, 2009 at 8:06 PM
part separator hmmm!…
Is there anything new on the big book “hobby japan” for may.
April 24, 2009 at 11:25 PM
Q, I don’t think it’s one of the most expensive (only $8) but it’s probably not the biggest… there is a SD Dendrobium ^^.
Hypnos, Take your sweet sweet time for models :). It’ll work out eventually. Collecting completed figures can get addicting because it’s so easy to… well, “complete”.
Busterbeam, so much for my speech of saving money, huh? ^^; But this little guy was cheap!
Mkuain, You’re welcome. mind posting a link to your blog/article when you’re done? ^^
Lupes, I can’t trust anything to apply dry decals besides my own fingers @_@
Lucius, I haven’t gotten the chance to browse through that book yet but it has some sweeeeeeet PG Astrays.
April 25, 2009 at 5:22 AM
Hard to save money when we’re all so much into Gunpla, eh, Z? But we all understand because we’re in the same “otakusphere”. XP
Compared to previous years since I started this hobby, this first half year alone I bought Gunplas worth of 4 PGs. I really gotta stop this buying, seriously, but I can’t~~~~. T.T

Here’s the link where the borrowed pictures are.. It’s kind of surprising since you have all of the gunpla listed there. You’ve kind of influenced me or something ^^
And thanks for sharing all of this, I couldn’t have know how good the kits are if not for your reviews..
April 27, 2009 at 12:40 AM
Chris, wo0o0o… 4 PGs worth of Gunplas… I can only imagine how many MGs that would be O_O.
Mkuain, I often wonder if it’s a good or bad that I influence others’ choice of Gunpla since I feel potentially responsible for that holes in their wallet ^^;
April 27, 2009 at 1:10 AM
You might’ve influenced the Unicorn and Sinanju, I’m planning on getting the Wing one for a very long time. The Zaku and RX-78-2 is a must since it’s vintage or something.
I would’ve gotten the 2.0 instead of the O.Y.W. if I hadn’t seen the review here which I am thankful for ^^,
April 27, 2009 at 9:21 PM
Really Z?
I guess after the fiasco I had with Ez8’s dry transfers I wanted to use something I could be sure would push down on the decal and transfer it over without messing it up even if it wound up taking an extra second. Sure, Ez8’s worked out for the best in the end…but still. I wonder if it was just how old the dry transfers were with the ez8..

“it’s probably not the biggest… there is a SD Dendrobium ^^”
Yes BB Dendrobium quiet large though, but the box not as big as that SD 00 Raiser.=)
That 4 PG Astray is really awesome ! Don’t think I could do that on such big kit. O.O
