Gundam SEED Destiny is Great!

gsd

Before anyone start asking me wtf am I smokin’, please read/skim this whole post first. It’s about time I let off my thoughts on this particular Gundam series ever since it finished airing back in 2005 (oh wow…it’s already been four years?!)

Spoilers ahead (but I’ll try to keep it to a minimum in case there are those who are fortunate enough to have not seen it yet)

Hiatus: MG Sword Impulse

IMG_4213

I forgot who but someone said apparently no one was able to put the MG Sword Impulse in this pose yet… but it can pull it off pretty easily ^^;. I spent a lot more time trying to take the perfect picture of it than posing it. I think I came close enough. Click to see the actual size if you find it blurry.

As for the entire review, I hate to say this but… I don’t think I’ll be able to finish it any time soon. This week I am just… wow. crushed by many aspects of life at the moment. Since I won’t have the review ready any time soon, I’ll let you all have a glimpse of the photoshoot. Just so you all know…whenever one of my photoshoots seemingly takes forever, it usually means I’m having too much fun or just putting some extra effort into the photos (usually both) ^^. Hope it’ll worth the wait at the end for all of you. I am striving to complete everything by this coming Thursday but we all know how accurate I am with my ETA…

OMG MG EXIA!!!

w

Alright! Finally! It’s about time! MG Exia!… … and I’m actually not too thrilled about it. What’s up with the proportions? They aren’t THAT much of an improvement over the 1/100. The GN Sword is fat… but needs to be more lengthy. Honestly, all this time I was hoping for MG Impulse proportions on Exia. Oh well. Guess I can wait for others reaction before I grab one… but then again, it does come with first batch goodies… hmm…

stuff jacked from Ngee Khiong and more pictures here.

世上只有媽媽好

It shouldn’t take a “holiday” for people to let their mom know how important and special they are. She is the reason why you are here in the first place. You should always keep your mom happy and proud every day. She is happiest when you are staying safe, succeeding in life, and taking care of yourself. Don’t disappoint her. Be sure to pay back the love and responsibility of taking care of her when she gets old.

Only mom is the best in this world…

Astray Red Frame Ver. Ke

asta7

Just went over to Mesarion+ to see if Master Keita have whipped out anything new in the past couple of months and sure enough he did. Check out his newest addition, the 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame Ver. Ke. This is like a MG Red Frame that could’ve been, should’ve been, but didn’t. Oh how his work never cease to amaze me…

Daruma- Future Gunpla Projects

Anyone familiar with the purpose of a Daruma? I’ve taken its concept, reversed and modified it for the completion of my own backlog. Actually, I’ll refer to my “backlog” as “future projects” from now on to get rid of that derogatory feeling of laziness. I’ve created a page for my “future projects” of Gundam models. There’s a purpose for this page: I’ve lined up the images in the most likely order that I’ll build them and with each one gone, I’ll delete its picture. Utimately, the whole page should disappear once my goal is reached. This is better than me always scouring around my room, thinking which model goes next and wondering how many more I have left. Seeing is believing. I don’t have to keep track as the page will do it for me. After looking at it, there’s not so much left afterall so here’s to hoping that I do get to finish them all by the end of the year ^^;

Also, it’ll be cool if everyone can use the page for little Gunpla chats, giving advice on some of the future models, suggestions, or just drop me a random message etc. etc. ^^

So does anyone else also go to a certain degree of extremity to finish their backlogs? (c’mon, fess up)

off-topic: *is trying to get up the new review soon…*

Tools Updated!

img_5048

After kicking myself enough times, I’ve finally updated My Tools page (my psuedo-tutorial on Gunpla)! Added some new tools, revised a few things and added some more stuff. Hopefully I’ve answered some FAQs along the way as well. I still don’t think the page is complete though (feels around 80%), but at least it has been updated. The Tools page is actually one of the highest viewed pages on this blog so I feel a bit silly that it is incomplete and a bit embarassed when I see that people from different forums are referring to other members to check it out ^^; (Thank you!)

The page will definitely be updated again as time goes by and I’m incorporating more techniques and tools into my arsenal.

MG Force Impulse- Color Change

img_3395

The above is the color scheme for my new MG Force Impulse. Personally, I think the red and black goes a lot better with the Force Silhouette since it is the same color. Or maybe I’m just biased toward the color red. Or maybe I’m just not done with another silhouette yet. What do you think? ^^

Here’s the original for comparision:

The former looks better right? :D

Anyway, this post is just a silly teaser of my next coming review…

:)

Most Challenging MG Gunplas

This is the obvious follow-up to yesterday’s post. We took a look at some of the easiest so now let’s take a peak at some of the hardest. This post is aimed at those who are going “I can build a MG Ball, so what now?”, those who are feeling adventurous, or those who simply want to test their limits. I rated these models based on the assumption that you *WILL* put in the effort to make them look right. Again, these models are just from my personal experience up to now and there could be harder ones in the future. In no particular order…

Top Easiest Master Grades

I’ve received numerous emails from people over the months with questions along the lines of “hi, I’m a complete newbie. What is a good starting MG?” so I guess now is as good a time as any to make a post about what *I* find to be some of the easiest Master Grade models (or just MG kits that people can start out with). Hopefully this can help some of those who are just starting out ^^.

img_0625

When I first saw “Master Grade” kits in stores, I was both astonished and intimidated by its name and huge boxes (compared to the EW 1/100 and 1/144 models). I thought “wow… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to build one of those. They look hella hard!”… har har. After ten years, Master Grades are now my Gunpla grade of choice. I’m sure many of you will feel the same way sooner or later :)
