Yea… I’m a few years late in joining the DS party but hey, it’s still highly popular ^^ (meaning more games to be release). I was quite shocked to learn that both Polar White and Onyx (the pokemon?) Black were discontinued a LONG time ago. Newegg is the only place that still has the black in stock. I can’t trust any of the DS Lite on ebay because half of them are fake (LOLChina) and I’m not gonna take the risk. Oh yea… I do like the Pokemon games ^^. Brings back great… elementary school memories.
The black looks much better in person than in photos. The glossy outside have its fair share of fingerprints already… I should give it a dose of matte topcoat…
WARNING! RANT ALERT! I hate UPS with a passion. I cringe with disgust every time I have to use it as a shipping option. They’re the most pathetic and slowest shipping company I’ve ever dealt with. Not once have I ever thought “wow that’s fast” when UPS delivers but it’s always “wow they’re slow as ****”. When they say “guaranteed delivery in 7 days”, they really mean it. THEY DELIVER IN SEVEN DAYS. No matter where. I remember my MG God Gundam and EX-S took just that long to get to me… FROM CALIFORNIA! So much for all those right-turn routes that saves gas and time…pfff. Okay… FIRST CLASS mail from CA only takes 3 days to get to me! So what does this have to do with my DS? Well I got free “3-day select” shipping from Newegg for both the game and the system (they shipped from different states…). The DS shipped last friday and I received it yesterday (is that 3 days?). The game pissed me off the most… It had an “on-time scheduled delivery” the same date as the DS (yesterday) but for no apparent reason, they changed it to today. Even when the game was already in PORTLAND TUESDAY. There was no delivery attempt either. Icalled UPS to ask WTF happened and why they rescheduled it… the operator didn’t really give a good explanation and just said “well, you picked 3-day select, SIR. Your package was actually shipped on 6/20 so it’ll still be on time on 6/25″. So she was telling me my package’s delivery date was rescheduled so it wouldn’t get here early?!… …… Lastly, when they finally do deliver, I swear they just threw the package as I heard it hit the wall before it hit the ground. Didn’t see as it was right before I opened the door… and guess what? the UPS guy was already almost in front of his truck and just shouted “It’s on the floor!” and left without looking at me… **** YOU! UPS!!!

I have always been a die-hard Nintendo fan, but I play much more PSP nowadays… only play some of my favorites on DSL like 悪魔城ドラキュラ and Rockman..

Good you finally joined the Nintendo DS brigade. Now get Mario Kart DS and (maybe) Star Fox Command so we can eventually play online sometime, and then get Gundam 00 and taunt me about having the game and how I don’t. :P
I want the PSP at least to get and play the Gundam vs. Gundam video game. I played one “Gundam vs.” game and a PC generic/doujin version of another and I found these kinds of games to be fun and addicting. In fact, I wish I had the Gundam vs. Gundam NEXT arcade itself in my home. :)
About the UPS… I guess I can see your point. It seems like time was taken when I got my EMSiA, GFF, and models. But I’m at least grateful that they did come in. *shrug*

Weird that you’ve had such bad experiences with UPS, they’ve always gotten my stuff to me in 3 days, even stuff from CA and I’m in Ohio. The guy and I are basically on a first name basis, he gave me a bunch of slips I can leave on the door when I know he’s going to be delivering stuff since no one is home from 11am-7pm… Guess I’m just lucky? *knock on wood*
I’ve got D/P/Pt, we oughta battle it out sometime! :)

Pokemon is one of my favorite game series. Platinum is great (though I’m taking way too long to get to the E4, for some reason), but I cannot wait for Heart Gold and Soul Silver.

Wow…finally got your DS, huh? Sadly, I spent so much on Gunpla, I have to settle for the emulator on the computer only. Pokemon, eh….I played Diamond for a while but didn’t manage to played it much.
@gunthetra: EH?? What? After re-releasing Fire Red and Leaf Green, now they’re going to do the same with Gold and Silver remakes? I’m a sucker for these remakes because it’s so nolstagic! Especially the remake BGM. While the first game remakes are nice (with addition of new islands), Gold and Silver has got to be the ones I spent the most time playing because of the 2 worlds.

I’ve had similiar exeperive about the box. I swear, they love ding-dong ditching houses. When I opened the door the guy was at his truck and I couldn’t see my package. I was looking around and he points and was like “over there.” Why do they use these things? When I ordered my Avalanche exia, it was supposed to arrive in 1 week and it arrived on the 7th day. I ordering from Cali, it said it would take two days to ship. 5 days to get across? I took a plane to michighan and got there in an hour and a half. How could it take that long to get to NJ? Whoops, kinds went on a mini rant about a rant. Lolz

Sorry to hear about such bad experiences with UPS. In my case I have always used the local postal service and never hay any problem.

Ooooo I just got a black ds lite too! Well I was lucky to get it for free when I was in singapore and its all thanks to gunpla! I love that country! LOL
I’ve used UPS about 3 times and I never had any problems. Usually arrive within 3-4 days. I just hope the next time I use UPS they won’t give me any trouble like yours did.

Zomg, I also have a deep hatred for ups, they always take forever…. also first they started leaving the packages on the front porch (okay, sounds good to me), but then they started leaving the packages in the side door of the house, I would go crazy looking for the package, not knowing that it has been waiting for me on the side door, then they just stopped leaving the packages anywhere, and you have to be in your house when they come….(lemme tell you I was pissed when I came back from school and found a little sticky note on my front door saying that ups failed to deliver the package) so I had to call and tell them that I would go and pick it up, cuz if they would have kept on shipping it to my house noone would be home, and after 3 tries they ship it back to the sender….. and this happened to me three times already, so ups really pissed me off….

Yeah it will 5 days not 7. Just because you placed the order doesn’t meant it was shipped out that same day. And if you want it quicker, then upgrade the shipping to next day air, it get to you by 10:30am the next morning. But I bet your to cheap to pay for that.

Gunthetra, I am waiting for the Gold and Silver remakes too. They were the versions I spent the most time with back in middle school ^^. Damn Nintendo sure knows how to use nostalgia against us…

Nope, I don’t know what you’re referring to about “just because you placed the order doesn’t meant it was shipped out the same day” but if you actually read what I typed, I clearly stated my DS was “shipped” on Friday and the game on Saturday (6/20). I know it wouldn’t ship the same day I ordered it because the order was placed on Thursday night. Am I “to cheap” to pay for faster shipping? when I am already paying retail for this, hell yea. Plus I have the patience to wait. So what am I complaining about? The shitty quality that UPS has been giving me all these years, whether I paid for their service or not.

Why not the PSP? Before i get the PSP, i tested the NDS Lite as well but just love the PSP more. Fallen more towards the graphics but NDS games are way more fun than PSPs :) And black probably aint my color. I saw those Lime Green / Red + Black ones which looks way more attractive :)
