MG Crossbone Gundam X-1 Ver. Ka

Some people were torn between deciding on either the Full Cloth or the Ver. Ka of the Crossbone Gundam X-1. Some favored the Ver. Ka and some rooted for the Full Cloth. Some had no idea and wanted me to review both… so I thought “Eh.. why not…” and so here I am (on an impulse)… working on a “Crossbone Gundam X-1 Ver. Ka” (Kai in this case since I couldn’t resist that awesome skull…) right after finishing the “Full Cloth”. The two are the exact same model (obviously). Only that the Ver. Ka is infested with you-know-what and ever oh so slight aesthetic differences on the head (Top vent, side vent, scars, mouth, and chin). Makes you want to think “why even bother?” and praise them for being so detailed at the same time xD.

World of Z

Hey everyone! Welcome to ZA WARUDO The World of C Z (a.k.a my room)! I know many of you (or possibly ALL of you) have already seen my room before but I’ve never actually given a formal “tour” around yet so this will be it ^^;. Some of you have already seen some of the shots at Figure.fm but I have more photos in this post.

Here’s my desktop hard at work running firefox everyday. I change the figures around from time to time. My bed is right behind me but there is nothing to there.

Top view. My speakers are the Logitech Z-5500 THX-certified (whatever that means…) 5.1 speakers. When I want “surround” sound, I could just move the rear speakers to be actually behind me… but that’s too much effort in most cases ^^;. Best mouse EVAR. I can highlight any text, click this “google” button on top and it’ll… well, google it for me. So handy! As for the keyboard… with all the stuff it has, the only one that I really like is that it tells me the temperature in my room.　I was photoshooting my room in that temperature from 2 AM to 4 AM…

SAFETY Kaijou!

Ah… the main weapon that I’ve been looking forward to in this model- The Musramasa Blaster. The beam effects for it are rather disappointing though (you’ll know what I mean if you’ve played SRW@2).

I’ve completed the Full Cloth for it as well but I’ll put it on later. I’m relieved to see that the Gundam can actually hold the GunxSword without much fuss despite how solid and heavy it is ^^. While the model is finished, it is still not “completed”. Don’t know when I’ll be done but hopefully by the end of this week. Now one more shot for good measures…

Unicorn without a Horn

Did a photoshoot of the MG Unicorn Gundam today for DC’s Gundam Giveaway. Was thinking of just using Sinanju and submitting photos I already have but someone else have already beat me to it. Since no one (surprisingly…) used Unicorn yet, I thought it’d be nice to have my best model take the spotlight once again ^^.

I was going to take SLR photos of it in Unicorn Mode but I couldn’t find the horn. Guess it’s lost somewhere in my room ^^;

A bit disappointed with the photos though; I initially wanted to take Unicorn up to the sky but my area is surrounded by tall trees everywhere… not to mention it was about 100 degrees outside. The bright sun was nice but fluctuation of light didn’t help. Some of the entries in the giveaway put my (lack of) photography skills to shame ^^;.

One thing I get kinda annoyed about my camera is that the photos I took look almost “perfect” to how I wanted on its LCD display… then I check it out on my comp and it is only ever so slightly off from how I wanted (more exposed than I wanted, under exposed, too dark/light/blurry, etc).

I tried doing new poses but only ended up reproducing old ones ^^;. I forgot how limited the knees can bend (the above is as far as it goes) o_O.Anyway, it’s great to be able to join a Gundam contest myself for once xD. I already see a few who competed in mine entered DC’s one already ^^. This looks to be good fun. So much anticipation though… ^^;

VAMPS Concert

I crashed into the rolling morning this monday, puking a couple of times and head spinning all day (still suffering a bit even today) BUT I also had a  rockin’ first-time experience; I went to my very first live (rock) concert ^^. It was definitely a new experience and atmosphere.  My manager and I went to see VAMPS at Portland’s Hawthorne Theatre… or in our case, we only went there to see HYDE. For those who don’t know who Hyde is, does L’Arc~en~Ciel ring any bells? Daybreak’s Bell perhaps? Anyway, I was dumbfounded that Hyde/VAMPS would pick Portland as one of the few cities in the US to do a tour O_O. There were many squealing fangirls and I suspect most of them were there for Hyde only as well since all the chanting I heard was “HYDE! HYDE! HYDE!” and conversations about how hot he is before the performance began. When the band appeared, I had a very hard time recognizing Hyde until he started singing because his appearance was unlike anything I’ve seen him in before – Like this (wow, someone else actually managed to catch a clip). However he might’ve looked like, there is no mistaking his vocals… his voice definitely kicks ass!

I believe this was the first song that kicked off the concert. Solid good rock to get everyone jumping :D. Man… everyone was jumping and pumping so hard that the wooden floor was actually shaking and wobbling. The music was so loud that my lungs and stomach were vibrating the whole time xD. Not to mention my ears feel like they were going deaf 20 minutes in…

After a couple of songs, Hyde stopped to do a little chat… and his English is pretty awesome xD. He can use the F word with class!

“It’s FAWKING HAWT en hea… well, it’s about to get even HAWTA”

“Ah U READY? AH U READY, PORTOLAND? AH U FAWKIN’ READY?!”

“there are many little shops around hea. around hea? o_O around here! I like it a lot :)”

“Eeeh… What should I sing? o.O” some from the audience: “READY STEADY GO!”, “DAYBREAK’S BELL!” Hyde: *shakes head with a smile* Me: oh you Otakus… xD

His “normal” voice sounds almost like a kid… wasn’t really expecting that given that he has one of the manliest voice in J-music ^^;. Here’s my favorite song from the concert:

Ahaha some time during the concert, Hyde threw water from his bottle onto the crowd and I was one of the (un)fortunate ones at the receiving end of it… mmm Hyde germs… it had a nice cooling effect though since the room was building up in body heat and humidity xD. Everybody was rocking out, including what seems to be “Mom and Dad” next to me; everyone was just having a blast. Too bad I couldn’t take any photos since there were guards on every corner waiting to throw people out for doing it.

I was hoping to hear him say “MY WISHES OVER THEIR AIRSPACE” but alas, wrong band ^^;. Wishful thinking aside,  There were many great songs during the concert and I liked most of them. It took me till after the concert for the fact that I was only about 15-20 ft away from Hyde to sink into me. I mean… wow… Hyde, the person who sang many of my all-time favorite songs (especially for driving… Driver’s High anyone?), is pretty much standing in front of me rockin’ his guitar… Wish I could’ve gave him a high five too though ^^;. Oh well, it was an awesome night nonetheless…

Crossbone WISP: Peacock Smasher

Spent a little too much time painting and assembling the Peacock Smasher (blah! the paint is chipping from the sliding parts already). Now I think I’ve taken care of the most tedious part of this model and hopefully I can breeze through the rest… until the end. You know what sucks? Not only is the Peacock Smasher ridiculously heavy but also the socket in the handle is apparently too big for the peg on the palm… so it doesn’t work and the thing just falls right off (initially). I added some paint inside the slot and it somewhat fixed the issue.

I stiffened the joints and fingers to reduce the chances of loose parts and so far I think it is working… ^^

Crossbone WISP: Head and Body

Some shots of my progress so far. Yes, I know they don’t look like much now and yes, they are very shiny but these are shots before “finalization” of the parts which you will all see when I’m done with the review :). It’s nothing special really but the irony of it is still worth hiding… xD

Here’s me being an idiot; I cut out the wrong head armor pieces (didn’t look in the manual), took 20 minutes to paint in the stripes THEN realized I cut out the wrong one xD. So I had to cut out the actual one and then spend another good 30 minutes painting in the “scars” for that one. It only takes five minutes to get the paint in but the meticulous work I have to do was a PITA. You know… making sure the paint is even, no “bleeding”, the layers are the same… and I think I could work on it some more if I still give a damn later, seeing how I did a better job on Ver. Ka’s head instead. Remember, it is all the finer details together that makes the Gundam model looks good overall ^^;.

The most badass face out of a Gundam. After seeing this face, I don’t think I could ever go back to that mellow look. This is just so much more sinister xD.

ガンプラ命! I Have RETURNNN!!!

* Does a FABULOUS pose*. First thing’s first, just got done with the MG Gundam F91′s Review. Wow… That downtime was no fun at all. Finally got my computer fixed without any apparent damage. I’ll still run a few more tests throughout the week to make sure that it IS in good health now. Guess my high school education really can be helpful down the road afterall…

Anyway, it’s been awhile… and I have a lot of catching up to do. Reading the past week of comments, emails, Dannychoo stuff and following others’ blogs ^^;. I apologize if it seems like I’ve been ignoring some of your comments but I DO try to catch all of them and not miss any (though it happened on a few occasions). I’ll try to finish all this in the next day or so.

NEXT PROJECT….  Jack Sparrow will be proud…

Unfortunately, I’ll be gone most of the day tomorrow though… orz.

MG F91 is Tall…

Looks can be deceiving. The F91 might be small but after putting it together, I realize that it is the same height as the MG Sazabi! Amazing!

:)

Anyway… I’m about to finish the rest of the model (weapons) and apply the decal then I’m calling it good.

Did you all (Americans) had a good Independence Day? I had a blast (literally) ^^;. ~$600 worth burned in two hours xD…
