My friend came back from Hong Kong this week and got me these two as presents ^^. What’s better gifts from HK to give to a Gunota than Chinese-themed Gundam models? The Gunplas are Guan Yu Gundam and Chang Fei Gundam (thinking of naming this one Chang Wu Fei already…) xD. They both look pretty awesome. I have never looked into these before because I have no idea what they are and not really fond of the pupils inside the eyes ^^;. Not sure when I’ll be able to get to these models though. Oh… my first time seeing these models clearly shows how much Chinese I know; I can almost easily read the kanji in Japanese but not in Cantonese… ahaha orz.
Anyone else collects these type of SD models? Do show off what you got :)

Cool Z… I do have the Ma Chao Blue Destiny, Lu Xun Z Plus, Sun Shangxiang Gerbera, and the special clear set of Kung Ming Re-GZ and Zhao Yun V2 Gundam… Unfortunately they are thousands of miles away from where I am now, so I cant build them till I get home… =(

ohh.. cools.. me thinks its the new (not realli) line of SD that bandai is starting up.. using the Romance of the Three kingdom theme on existing gundams… like Sazabi is the the bad guy and RX is the good guy etc etc… and you will see alot more kinds of gundam frm diff series in this SANGOKU theme… like Hi-V… Tallgaess.. even God gundam is in… quite interesting actually.. see how they chinese-fied all the gundam and how they are related to each other.. (mentor.. allies… and enemies..) haha.. i jus came back frm Singapore’s first Gundam exhibition… and they had the Full map on a big wall.. too bad i haven started a blog to put it up.. haha.. if you guys wanna see.. do let me noe.. it will serve as an incentive for me to start uploading all the photos… ^^

Plutoniumhunter, easy fix…ask parents to ship them over ^^
pong, I should go take a look at that map right now. I think I saw it at Ngee Khiong’s but I just look right over it. By all means start a blog (or photobucket/flickr) if you feel like you have the time to make one. the gifts got me curious on the rest of the line-up ^^

The Sangokuden line-up is VERY extensive. Kits have been introduced at the rate of two per month for nearly two years now iirc.
They feature slightly better articulation than the older SDs(not sure how that compares to newer and current SDs from say 00) and are packed to the teeth with intricate details all over the kits. Though with great detail comes great pain(t). It would take some real paint work to get one Sangokuden SD kit to shine.
Well I’m sure the regulars will be able to provide more info on this line-up.

Nice! SDs are really fun. I like to work on them between doing MGs and other kits. I completed 2 of em for the moment ^^. Ryubi and Kochu.
1) Kochu – love this guy’s gimmicks

2) Ryubi ^^

Probably work on God gundam for the next project ^^.

I love the Sangokuden, collecting them can be quite addictive as they are cheap and nice ^^. I did 2 of em Ryubi and Kochu
1) Kochu – Love the gimmicks. Based on Huang Zhong.

2)Ryubi – Liu Bei, brothers with Zhang Fei and Kuan Yu ^^

Probably work on that God gundam set after my Astray ^^.

Wow, I never thought I see the day when you will have Sangokuden too. So, Zeta and ZZ is the firsts for you then? XD
I got Shouretsutei Ryuubi (Perfect Gundam) as my first. After that I bought myself 6 more. Haven’t build a single one of them though. XD
Like T said, these kits required entensive painting, which is not your style for doing SD kits. ^^;
Some of these kits are impressive, especially combo set, like Tallgeese set which has the Dendrobium/ G Fighter/ G Falcon.

Sorry, just got to comment again. I just realised why your friend give you Z and ZZ Gundam. lol
Z all the way!

lol… I never go for these SD kits except the 3 my uncle gave me last time, SD Nu Gundam, F90 and F91. Never cared bout those though, juz assembled and slapped on all the foil stickers.

Problem is Z, my parents don’t support my gunpla hobby… All bought with my own cash… lol… I agree with the others though… They require piles of paint to look good…

Cantonese is a spoken dialect, but if you are referring to written language then it will be Chinese in general :o
Haven’t got into SD Gunpla – the amount of painting required is quite a lot in order to look good, and they usually have a lot of stickers instead for those who don’t like to paint. I can understand how they’re aimed for younger audience too though (as I heard a lot of children talking about them too)

Actually these SDs quite challenging to paint. But check this guy’s SDs….really awesome stuff

He is a modeller from HK. Very helpful guy too ^^

Speak loudly and carry a small brush, Z.

I actualy got the first in the series, Ryuubi, last month at a hobbytown.
The stickers look like ass (but at least I can eventually use him for painting practice), articulation is “eehhh” compared to my other SD’s, and his hands fall out pretty easily, but for what it is, pretty fun kit. I like him, but I can’t see myself buying many other kits from this line. Maybe that other one I saw in the shop for my youngest sister, but not much else.
I’m also not sure if this is a new thing with newer SD’s, but this guy’s parts were made in a way so that there will be few nub marks. I probably didn’t need to use a cutter. He also came with a free black lining marker, and part of the box (and the little comic it came with) were in English. Dunno if that’s different or not. o_o
Here’s some crummy phone pics:

Interesting. I didn’t notice the High Mega Cannon on Guan Yu’s head until Chris pointed out that it was based on ZZ.
September 4, 2009 at 11:30 PM
wut? The above are actually ZZ and Z? xD Honestly, I didn’t see that till Chris pointed it out. Now I see their base design… the Hi-Mega Cannon and Z’s V-fin and chin. The “Z” part is all a coincidence though because my friend knows absolutely nothing about Gundams XD. But yea… these models are like a Pain(t) in the arse to detail and to make them shine after looking through all those photos. Damnit. Oh well… I’ll put in the effort for it. I don’t want to do a sloppy job on a present from a friend ^^;.
