Truth be told… I don’t think I’ve ever looked inside this PG’s box since the day I got it (2+ years ago) ^^;. I’ve never built a PG before and this is a good place to start. Not that it really matters since at the end of the day, this is still Gunpla we’re talking about… meaning the most we still do is CCS- cut, clean, snap. Looking at the Skygrasper can really make me yawn though ^^;.
Grasping a feel of the size of the PG Aile Striker compared to the 1/100. hooray for giant beam sabers?
I don’t get why PG kits don’t come with decals… nor are there any waterslides for them.
The display base. The right one belongs to the 00 Raiser.
I think I’ll work on this just to get it out of the way….. it doesn’t look that hard and it’s not that big when completed either (a bit bigger than the Aile Striker pack it seems).

PG aren’t so difficult to do, just imagine its MG but more parts and bigger size, which translate to more time (took me a week to do my PG Wing Zero).
Truth be told: I never put any markings on my PG, just do the linings. XD

hoorayyy at least, PG is out!

oops
for some reason i thought u were gonan build the PG strike also :P
December 11, 2009 at 6:06 PM
Awesome Z, any plans on painting this guy? The PG Strike is gorgeous, but it definitely needs the Aile pack, I’m glad you got the set!
December 11, 2009 at 6:14 PM
yea Z, it is not big project… only takes me around 2-4 hours to do it, straight build though.. and also, I didn’t put much attention to the instruction sheet. I forgot a few parts and needed to go back few times… somehow like zeta ver 2.0 feeling. the skygrasper + aile pack is just as long as g falcon, but just wider because of the wingspan, that’s all.
December 11, 2009 at 6:19 PM
oo yea, the unpainted 2 pilots are eyesore, it’s so stand out…. you might have to paint the window to cover it up… is there any clear gray or clear black paint? I’m looking for one to cover those pilots..

When you finish, post the results.

Ohhh, finally
December 11, 2009 at 7:55 PM
Finally a PG eh!? Can I expect a review in say… a month or two. That’s after it’s built in about a month… xD
Been wanting PG for awhile but the Red Frame is what I want, and since the B.F.2ndL MG I’m sure a R.F. will soon follow with a Flight Pack or maybe the Powered Arms.
Good luck brother, will be waiting to see some photos soon too. :)

@neosonic
2-4 hrs for a pg?
i need at least half a day for a mg….and 1 day for a big scale mg like sinanju. of course there are time out in between

On the waterslides/decals thing, it seems that the older kits didn’t come with them. The Strike, Astray and 00 Raiser have them, while the W-Zero, Zeta and if I remember correctly, Zaku II didn’t. I think the GP-01 doesn’t have any either.
December 11, 2009 at 8:45 PM
base for MG Ex-S, PG Skygraser, PG 00 raiser are actually the same. Giving only stickers is stupid. spoiling the name of PG, we should at least deserve a dry transfer decals…
December 11, 2009 at 9:21 PM
I don’t really hate stickers though, and for kits that look too plain to me like MG Strike series I’d happily slap on symbol stickers and warning markings i have in “store”. Since it’s super-hard to find a flat topcoat and Mr Mark Setter at my place, i even came up with my own method of sealing dry decals with a layer of super thin and not-so-shiny tape, alligning them by the edges of the gunpla part and seam lines making them even less noticeable than stickers…
Z, finally a PG? XD
December 11, 2009 at 11:42 PM
Wow. i never really thought that you would look at the runners of a PG, much less start a PG. I sorta expected u to start with the strike tho.
December 11, 2009 at 11:50 PM
OWH MAH GAWD! IT HAS STARTED!!!!
Haha, FINALLY you’re starting on the PG Strike + Sygrasper…I’ve been waiting so long that I think if I wait any more my hair’ll fall out. D:
I commented ealier asking if you could do a review of the SG and the Strike b4 Christmas and it looks like its a dream come true. (even if its only the SG and not the Strike)
Happy building!~
December 12, 2009 at 12:24 AM
wow… some of you seems more excited than I am about this… xD
December 12, 2009 at 1:27 AM
you can’t blame us ^^ you have the toys most of us dreamed of having. and i was kinda wondering how long would it take you to put that guy together, considering your other obligations.

Exkurogane
speaking of mr mark setter, how should it be applied to the water slide decals? do we stick the decals on the surface, wait for it to dry, then just put some setter on it and let it dry??
