So you think having a giant collection of Gunpla in your room is awesome huh? Well, it is hur hur hur… Not. At least not when you have to move said collection out for any reason =.=. Such is the case with yours truly. My mom told me earlier that I need to move EVERYTHING(!!!) out of my room by Wednesday for carpet cleaning. This includes my towers of gunpla and GFF boxes, the shelves, garbage on the floor, junk, my bed, my comp… well, EVERYTHING… otherwise she’ll indiscriminately throw anything she sees away ^^;. And I know she’ll be happy to do it because she thinks of all Gundam models as they are collectively known as “trash” to her (typical parents). I have clothes, empty boxes, sleeping bags, cables, knives, traps, homework, paints, tools, reactors, health care materials, booze, magazines and what-have-you all over the floor and cleaning won’t be easy. Let alone moving out all the Gundam stuff. Worst of all, I’ll probably receive more yelling at how much “trash” I have once she sees my entire collection outside my room. I supposed now is a good time to clean up this junkyard of mine…
If you want an idea of how much I need to move out, here’s a previous post of my room (that made it into otacool ^^;).

faaaaaa thats so many gunpla boxes. wudnt it be annoying if one or more of those towers fell? raining gunpla boxes? =P
December 21, 2009 at 10:55 PM
i am getting dizzy looking at that tower of gunpla boxes….can’t imagine how long you will take to repack all your stuff into them for shifting…

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!! Having a collection like this is an envy of many, but having parents who thinks your collection is trash, (considering HOW many CD’s of their songs they posses and say its their collection) is too harsh. And why o why does your house has wall to wall carpeting????? Anyways goodluck on moving them out temporarily^^. Kindly report of any casualties^^ (though I pray there wont be any).

J19, to some gunotas, that might be a dream come true…
chubbybots, last time (a long time ago when I had less) I moved them all from one room (old room) to another (current room), it took over half a day and some change.
Erazer, unfortunately my parents doesn’t have any collection of sorts that I can call them out on. nothing. To them, gunplas are 1. trash 2. waste of money/time/space 3. trash 4. toys 5. dust magnets. Sounds reasonable enough… ^^;

That’s an insane amount of boxes. What’s the long term plan? Flatten them? Save a special room in your future house only for GunPla boxes? Or dare I say, throw them out?! I know I want to hold onto mine as long as possible, but I don’t have nearly as many as you…
December 21, 2009 at 11:50 PM
HOLY~! X_X
That’s a lot of boxes… Just how on Earth did you ever manage to stack up to that high? Lemmee guess, either using thrusters and veniers or… a ladder.
Yes, unfortunately most parents can never understand the things that we collect… v_v
p.s. did I saw a nendo Miku at the pic?… O_o

Woe is you my friend. I had the same case here (with my gunpla and zoids) to the point they scolded me on to why I am still playing with toys considering my age (18 that time) and I dunno what happened onto how my parents accepted this hobby of mine.^^ and again good luck.

Luckily my boxes are in the cupboard… I have a large enough cupboard to stuff most of my boxes, kinda. Of course if there’s a need to move the cupboard… >_>;
Then again, you have way more than me. ^^;
December 22, 2009 at 1:01 AM
You kept all the boxes, that’s why… I dump most of my boxes unless the boxart is too nice. LOL
Check out Ngee Khiong now, Astray Red Frame Kai has tactical arm sword -that transforms into a bow and looks like a flight unit… XD

Seems like a problem all Gunotas will face someday. ^^;
And this seems to be the way to go if you don’t want to throw out the boxes.

My mom is like that too ^^
If I had that much of gunpla, it would be a nightmare, not a dream… LOL
I don’t know why, some of my enthusiasm seems to be wearing off… I mean, I get excited when I’m waiting for a kit, and buying the kit. then when I bought it, i’m like, uh-huh… then it starts all over again when I assemble it xD

Adding Miku to the picture is a nice touch. ^^
Haha…just when you thought finally getting Blue Frame is a good move, Bandai just gave MG Red Frame the Tactical Arms, with another katana to boot. Who regrets getting Blue Frame already? I know I am…….
December 22, 2009 at 2:46 AM
O.O whoa *looks up* you have to move ALL of that? ouch. hopefully you’ll get it all out in time before your mom throws an MG away… like sword impulse. that would suck. guess there’s a down side to having so much gunpla…
December 22, 2009 at 3:08 AM
@ChrisEXE
I have no regrets at all! I got my blue frame within the 2nd week after its release. I want both red and blue frame. Hopefully another MG Gold Frame later…
I don’t have the 1/100 NG version because i have been waiting for these MGs. Patience is worth it…
December 22, 2009 at 3:47 AM
@ChrisEXE I do T.T
I have NG blue, red and gold…in that order… AND a MG Blue Frame… I definitely DO NOT want to repeat that feat T.T
December 22, 2009 at 3:55 AM
Okay this could take awhile. As for me, my plans are on hold since I saw the Red Frame.
December 22, 2009 at 4:59 AM
um…wow… I wish I had a fraction of that. Cleaning the room is never fun. And yea, my parents feel the same about my Gunpla. I just remind them that their money isn’t buying it and they move along. ^^
December 22, 2009 at 5:13 AM
Holy moley!! all the way to the ceiling!! Good luck moving all that stuff and then getting it back in.
December 22, 2009 at 5:41 AM
Wow… I had the same problem myself 2 years ago when I moved to my current room. Took the opportunity to flatten all my boxes. I still had the empty runners in most of them. ^^; Now I have a stack to the ceiling again and it’s really in the way. Oh well.
And yes, in my parents opinion gunpla is trash as well. My mother refuses to call them gundams/gunpla and insists they’re dolls. Luckily, overall she’s not too bothered what I do with my money.
December 22, 2009 at 5:47 AM
I guess spend a day moving models to boxes. Actually my parents like my hobby.
