PG Strike Gundam is tall ^^;. Not sure if I’ll have issues photoshooting this model but I think it should be fine except that maybe I’ll have to be farther away. All the weapons are finished so all that will be left is the head and aile striker. I still need to go out to find an LED replacement and battery…
I still need to assemble the arms too ^^;. I gave up for the day after cleaning the nubs off on just the right arm- it took me about some 40-ish minutes and it just got way too tedious.

Just for consistency’s sake with the other WISP post, a comparison with the MG Strike’s arms xD.
ironic how I managed to finish constructing this model in about a week considering this is my first PG yet I take like a month for an MG XD. I still need to add the finishing touches and top coat though so that’ll add in another week of effort… then maybe another week for photoshoot+review… okay so I’ll probably take about a month for this model as well ^^;. I hope to bring the review out before the end of this month.
Now to really get crackin’ on my homework…

New LED? I’m sure I won’t be the last to ask, but what happened to the supplied one?
January 6, 2010 at 12:16 AM
oh I find the yellow to be a bit too bland for my taste so I wanted to swap for something else. Probably blue or red… most likely red…
January 6, 2010 at 12:33 AM
Ahh..Yeah, red would look really good with the strike. If it’s one thing that feels like a letdown on PG kits, it’s the led units. You can hardly see Red Frame’s even with the lights of, plus the way the head is shaped make it a bit hard to get a good shot of it.
January 6, 2010 at 12:53 AM
But it doesn’t flicker like the MG Exia’s GN Drive right?
January 6, 2010 at 12:55 AM
Wow thats pretty tall hope to see more work in progress soon
have fun !
January 6, 2010 at 12:56 AM
No, thankfully. You’ve got a little more room with the way the PG led is put together too, so if by some chance it’s not getting a solid connection you can fix it with a little bit of foil or something I’d wager.

I wonder whether Z always influence me in what gunpla to buy. I guess I’ll grab this one in my 3-month holiday from May. Well, working in Starbucks in gonna help me for sure. My friend got a pretty high pay working there during school break…
January 6, 2010 at 4:05 AM
Our progress is about the same Z. I finished all the frame plus the red shoes.
As for the led, I suggest you try and see yellow led. When u turn it on, it’s orange-ish kinda yellow.
January 6, 2010 at 4:11 AM
changing LED, good for you, PG is going on well.
January 6, 2010 at 4:33 AM
(T 3 T) Me too, lazy on Homework. :+)
January 6, 2010 at 4:40 AM
Yeah, that was fast. Have you panel-lined the armors yet? Or just assembled the inner frames?
January 6, 2010 at 4:40 AM
I felt the same way as you one after I built the 1/60 Exia a while ago. It just feels weird to suddenly have built such a large model when all ye have built are generally 1/144s and 1/100s. XP
Besides that… you’re really going at it for this one! You are building it faster than any kit I’ve seen you built, especially in this larger and harder scale. Did you get obsessed with building it? ^^;
January 6, 2010 at 5:38 AM
well looks like my prediction will come true^^. It seems for a PG putting this guy is a much easier build unlike the Shinanju *hek hek hek^^;
anyways have fun ^^,
January 6, 2010 at 7:08 AM
This seems easier than Sinanju to be sure.
January 6, 2010 at 8:57 AM
Hey, well that was fast!!!!
You could try out the usb led thing if your worreid about the led flickering or being too weak. I think there were versions posted on Gundamaniac and Danny Choo’s blog a long while back.
January 6, 2010 at 12:12 PM
Whoa that was fast!
Hope to see the finished product soon hehe
January 6, 2010 at 12:37 PM
nice looking inner frame! the nub cleaning must be a major time killer with all those pieces to work on, id imagine your hands are pretty cramped lol still your progress is impressive :D
January 6, 2010 at 1:08 PM
lol maybe you can swipe an led in tech ed… or maybe not XD say, is the led yellow or the eyes yellow? it looks like the led, but i need to be sure. if you cant find it, just go paint the eyes and get a yellowish blue/red. the frame looks like it’s coming together very nicely ^^… how much homework have you neglected for the sake of this? a pile?
January 6, 2010 at 2:20 PM
Dude you’ve built this quicker than some of the MGs you were working on. How long has it taken you to get this far? About two weeks. I’m impressed Z, hahha. Good job dude.
January 6, 2010 at 3:19 PM
Maybe I can answer the bulk of the questions in this post…
- I still need to do the panel lines on most of the armor.
- The eyes are plain clear and only the LED is yellow… so the eyes will be clear when the LED is off on the model. That’s kinda lame…
- From the actual time I started this model, it has only been a week… I’m only trying to finish this model ASAP before the essays really do pack up. I already have one due next week ahaha. Now that I think about it… I think I built this model faster than ANY MG I’ve worked on XDDDD
By the way, does anyone know if Marvin Ryan (Gundamaniac) is still around somewhere on the web? I miss his blog. He has done some incredible work…
