A lot of interesting Gunpla news and stuff have been emerging left, right, and center so thought I’d drop my thoughts on a few ^^.
If you slap Ver. Ka markings all over this one, can you tell if it is a MG or HGUC?
Kamen Rider Mari… okay, seriously why and how is she so popular? Truth be told, I’ve never seen a single episode of Evangelion…
“New” 1/144 00 Raiser model (Condenser Type… whatever the hell that means)… Honestly, I’m really, really, REALLY trying to find the difference between this one and the other 00 Raiser w/ GN Sword III… and I don’t see any. At all. Maybe the photo is wrong?
Bandai is toying with my emotion with this boxart TToTT. It looks so damn good that I actually want the model now!!! But wait… just wait.. Deathscythe HELL WILL come in due time… @.@
MG ReZEL looks sweet! So I think I’m gonna just pick up the Commander Type version when it comes out, Bandai =P. That one will probably come with that giant beam rifle…
NEW 00 MG THIS DECEMBER
I don’t know where the image went but apparently there will be one soon. Since they took the effort in letting us know so early then it must be something new/special. So let’s do some speculating! :D
What the new 00 MG could be:
- 00 Raiser (seems unlikely though since we are already getting this lame Condenser Type 1/144 model)
- One of the other three S1 Gundams (won’t be S2 until 00 Raiser comes out)
- Flag/overflag
- Astraea (reuse Exia)
What I want it to be:
- 00 7 Sword
- Anything that Graham pilots
What I would hate it to be:
- Some form of Exia
- Some form of the GN-X
- The bling bling MS that Alejandro pilots
What are your speculations?

Should they make another 00 MG, give it good ankles pls. Heck the NG’s can stand better!
Anyway, I do think that the new 00 MG is 00 Raiser, unless they pull out an MG of Virtue…
And hopefully they also release the Okawara Deathscythe. Ver Ka Deathscythe doesn’t really appeal to me.

anyway, 00 Raiser Condenser type is good for me, since i only bought 7 swords :3 therefore not only i will have a 0raiser, but also GN Sword III, those GN sword II effect parts, and those Condenser thingy…

Actually come to think of it, they could just reuse the runners from the MG RX-78-2 Gundam V2.0 and produce a MG 0 Gundam.
But even with that said, I still think 00 Raiser would be the MG release. This is because 00 Raiser was voted 3rd by fans as hopeful MG releases from “MG Wishlist MS Survey” initiated by Bandai 30th Anniversary’s official site back in late March. Not to mention that Bandai did report in the results that the MG realization was under study. Information from:

Rather pleased that Bandai decided to make a HG Sinanju, UK customs are less likely to pick up and hold for ransom compared to the the MG. Even if they do pick it up the fee won’t be as high so it’s all good.
As for the the new 00 MG I have a feeling it’s either going to be 0-Gundam or Reborn’s Gundam. God forbid they make another Exia.

Huh?! Why would a Tieren be upsetting? Unless you guys REALLY wished for a Gundam..?
The Non-Grade 1/100 Tieren is one of the best 1/100 Non-Grades I’ve ever built. For a Mechwarrior-esque design, it’s poseability surprised me (excellent articulation!), and it comes with decent weapons and accessories.
Personally, I’d have wished for a 1/100 version of Sergei’s Flight-capable Tieren.

HGUC Sinanju: It seriously tempts me.
Mari Illustrious Illustration Something Makinami: She’s a new character in the Rebuild of Evangelion movies. Maaya Sakamoto voices her. And she looks damn good in her red glasses.
HG 00-Raiser Condenser Type: It already broke the laws of physics. Now it even cheats death? Not gonna fall for it.
MG Deathscythe EW: Pre-ordered it when Hobby Search had it’s Summer Sale for a little over 3000 yen. Was gonna cancel my pre-order, then I saw that sexy Box art. And as much as I want it to be Deathscythe Hell, those sexy wings it has are also huge, and I currently have no space for it. Since I’m a slave to Shinigami, I’m still buying it.
MG ReZel: Not bad, but I’ll pass. I hope the Delta Plus is released next year though.
00 MG in November: I’m almost expecting it to be 00-Raiser or Astraea, but I want it to be Kyrios.

Hrm. Kamen Rider Mari, huh? never thought of her as a KR. She’s not from the show, so it wouldn’t matter whether or not you’ve seen it. She’s from the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, which, by the way, are over-the-top awesome and still incredibly confusing.
As everyone already pointed out, it’s the drives on 00 that are gone. That’s not gonna stop me from buying this one, I just want another 00 to kitbash with.
You know what I’m surprised about? Why have you not mentionned the glorious RG Char’s Zaku II? Or the HGUC Gouf Custom?

You mean if Bandai takes the photos and doesn’t compare to the MG Sinanju ver. Ka (as most Gunpla hobbyists with blogs/websites would do)? [/Captain-Obvious]

I haven’t, either. I haven’t seen much of Kamen Rider at all, eith–don’t gasp at me like that! Anyway, while I imagine knowing/watching Evangelion helps, I think when looking at the picture of the figure, I think a small amount of the excitement can be explained with three points:
1. She’s drawn to be the cute girl with the glasses (evident when that headpiece is removed).
2. She’s in what people can consider to be a cool, tight-fitting outfit that naturally forms to her curves.
3. Really an extension of #2, but with that headpiece in that image (I guess it can work without it), she looks like a superheroine! I’m sure many people (regardless of whether they have a life or not) are suckers for them.
By the way, I’ve noticed some of these Evangelion figures also come with a cockpit seat. I wish they could do the same for Gundam: I’d like to see products like, say, Loran, Sochie, and Harry in their cockpits as figures to recreate the drama of the TAG anime, or maybe an assortment with characters like Shiro, Hiiro, Garrod, etc. But if ever a Gundam line came out, we’d more likely see an Amuro/Char set, or Four and Haman (or some other cute-girl-with-a-Gundam figure as a set; I can imagine half the SEED cast as a product).

Y’know, I was about to do the rant about the typical opinions of people who didn’t know–let alone give a crap–about Katoki’s redesigns of the first five Gundams of the Endless Waltz OVA (but apparently will make it into the comic) and yet are so glued to their tapes of the cheesy dubbed versions of the TV series–with the Okawara designs they don’t regard too highly anymore–and EW, where they are so fascinated by the fights involving Katoki’s redesigns for the latter-five Gundams…
I don’t understand it (if they like GW so much), and I’ll just condense my rant to this. People have unique tastes, yes, but that doesn’t stop me from just wondering about some people’s inconsistency of liking the EW designs, and disliking Katoki’s similar redesigns for the first five. I guess I can find something similar in me regarding my tastes, though.
I look foward to the rest of Katoki’s GW Gundams going the MG route while the EW comic and Frozen Teardrop are being promoted. I also hope Katoki finds a way to extend Shenlong ver. Ka’s dragon fang for when that MG (or when the EW comic) rolls out. I’ve seen an idea by a 1/144-scaled Gunpla kitbasher before when he made three or four of the five GW Gundams in 1/144 scale (without using B-Club parts).
Oh, and I love the cover art for MG Deathscythe ver. EW. A little more exciting with Wing ver. Ka slicing into an Aries, while the newer MG Wing didn’t do much beyond causing a couple of small explosions.

It’s probably a given by now to easily guess on a predictable and reliable pattern of Bandai milking their cows (such as above, though they painted the obvious for us on an MG DS Hell not long ago, but that’ll take a while). But still, I’d rather wait before holding my breath. Have you thought about getting either HGUC version, Z?
Oh, and I wish there would’ve been rain since this morning, over here. Oh, well. *shrug* (In the case October+ rolls by and someone is reading this, this last bit is a reply to one of Z’s Twitter blurbs.)

Oh I like your idea of figures with the cockpit stand! I would want one from the Zeta or CCA era. Those panoramic cockpits look awesome if they can make it like a ball.
Hmm… I can sorta understand your point about others’ opinion on the GW designs. Personally, I don’t think there is anything “offensive” about either designer’s style. At the end, “people like what they like” so no point stressing yourself over it ^^;. Personally, I have no problem be it katoki or okawara… it’s the fact that it is the first-gen of the Gundam which is why I am not picking it up because the upgrade will most likely follow. If the Deathscythe was released with Okawara design, then I would’ve just wait for okawara’s Deathscythe Hell xP. Katoki… Okawara… doesn’t mean much to me. Funny how it can cause quite the rage in some people.
And nah I’ve never planned on the HGUC ReZEL because I don’t plan on collecting any HGUC Unicorn stuff. I knew the MG is not too far off since there is already Sinanju and Unicorn.

About the idea, what sparked my thought of a Gundam line of sort was a figure (and what looks like a cockpit seat) like these:

So, if a similar line-up came to be, and it was Gundam characters and the cockpits of the MSs they pilot, I’d likely consider getting them. Especially if we have characters like Harry Ord or Sochie Heim (both I already mentioned) available. By the way, wasn’t there a figure (not sure if it’s Figma) of Master Asia in the works?
I probably didn’t re-word my “gripe” (more curiosity in a sense of being baffled) about the consistency of people’s tastes regarding Katoki’s redesigns of the GW Gundams, as I had a mountain of text to delete and edit (yeah, yeah, a sign that I haven’t gotten out of the rock far enough), but what I mean is something I can ask in a question: Are Katoki’s redesigns of the “second gen” GW Gundams really that much more impressive? Is it so because they were animated and the first gens only showed up in a magazine around the same time? (Brushing aside the models, figures, and upcoming comic, of course.) Are the designs so uninteresting? Too much like Okawara’s “first gen” Gundams? Or too similar but feeling like a “downgrade” since we never saw the “first gens” first before the upgrade?
I guess taste shares a bit of a feeling, and people do like one but not the other, despite similarities. I understand that, and I guess I can show it when something else comes up. *shrug* But it just feels too inconsistent and maybe a bit disappointing that people are willing to wait on what seems to be Bandai’s predictable behavior that–in reality, not in predictions based on history–may or may not come, and might not take a look at what is an impressive redesign of the Deathscythe.
I brought up Okawara’s in the last reply as what I believe to be the typical GW fan’s reaction to Katoki’s redesigns of the “first gen” Gundams, yet while also feeling unimpressed with Okawara’s originals in the GW anime, are willing to overlook it when watching their tapes (or on YT or something else). I can’t stop people from feeling the way they feel, but I just have a feeling people are more open minded about Okawara’s entire GW Gundam designs than they are the first five designs for whatever reason (such as that they don’t show up animated, but are here and there in some other form). Whether my impression is true or not, I don’t know, but that’s what I get.

I think that there’s no doubt that the new 00 MG will be 00 Raiser, since it was ranked 3rd in that poll for suits that people want to get the MG treatment. Plus, it’s a pretty “duh” MS that everyone and their mom knows will come out with an MG form. Bank on it.

I’m so banking on the HGUC Sinanju that I intend to buy one along with the HG Sazabi for comparison reasons (possibly by Christmas…)
As for units deserving the MG Treatment… “How about the Tallgeese and the OverFlag, Bandai?”

Ehhh…not much to say other than I am SOOO getting tat Deathscythe…I always did like Katoki’s original redesigns more than the Movie EW versions.
They have the resemblence of the original 5 with a more updated look…plus DH’s wings will be a dust magnet and wayyyy too big. (Also really excited about MG Heavyarms…and it’s gonna be missle spam + original red colours…WIN!!)
Amazing Deathscythe boxart…but why didn’t they make it a “Ver. Ka” like the Wing Ver. Ka? It is designed by Katoki, and its brother unit, the Wing, did have the White “Katoki” stuff and box…
Think they’ll come out with a normal “Wing Ver. Ka” thats updated and with a normal boxart? (like they did to the Unicorn Gundam)
