Yea… I just used a noun as a verb har…So do you listen to music when you build your Gundam models? If so, what do you usually listen to?
Personally, I would usually play the soundtrack of the series that the model I am working on is from or only to the opening/ending themes. You have so idea how many times I was “Flying in the Sky”, or playing the two main Domon themes when I was working on the MG Shining Gundam xD. This is just a way for me to get into the mood and feel for the model that I’m building. I think this also usually leads to a less stressful time with the model ^^;.
At other times, I would listen to something that makes me “chillax”… something with good beats, maybe a bit slow, even hip-hop or R&B will do too. Since building Gunpla takes a lot of patience, time, and focus, it is best to just relax and take it easy. One of my favorite chill song is “Thank You” by Home Made Kazoku (I’ve been listening to this song for who knows how long before I found out it was from Bleach… which I’ve never seen a single episode of). I cannot listen to stuff like Techno or Rock when I am building models! I tend to screw up easier or just lose my focus cuz I’ll be rockin’ it out! XD Depressing/Sad/Love songs/music also doesn’t help because then I’ll be thinking why I am building Gunpla instead of hanging out with a girl… or something like that.
Another chill song. Seriously, try building Gunpla when you are listening to this and everything will seem to go so smoothly! Nujabes is win! RIP man…
Lastly, something with a smooth Chinese note to it works for me too ^^. I need music while I build my Gundam models otherwise I might be bored quick or get sidetracked… which is strange, because I find myself building my models faster in silence o_o.
So what music do you recommend when building Gunpla?
Here’s a more relevant picture for the post. This one is a classic… :D

Well that last picture is “cool” xDD
I tend to hear main themes from the series or just the soundtrack of it…
Or nothing…because sometimes you need such a concentration that you want nothing to piss you off xDD

I usually listen to the best collection songs of seed, seed destiny or 00, Team 08.. that’s about all the gundam song i have in my mp3 player other than that some slow chinese song works fine for me. Now just about to start on my MG red frame. Finished my macross VF-27 lucifer just a few weeks back.

I tend to listen to a lot of metal as it puts me in an awesome mood but I live with family so I can only do that on my own, otherwise it’s something slow and acoustic like Elliott Smith, or fun like Arcade Fire or Foals. Sometimes a bit of Gary Numan can’t go wrong either!

I’d go for something light….. Like Funky Monkey Babys
Listen to them they’re awesome

Like you, i’ve never seen any episodes of bleach, but i love Velonica and Alones… also, i love all songs of Flow (remember World End?)
Since i’m customizing 1/144 00 Gundam inspired by Code Geass, im really listening to their songs, again…
Also, i play Drummnia, so most of my songs are from there…

You mentioned Flow and didn’t go JIBUN WOOOO!!!..? :o

I usually don’t listen to music but sometimes I watch DVDs. One time I did Mystery Science Theater 3000

Thank You was used as an ending theme if I’m not mistaken.
Like you I also listen to the themes of its anime. like when i was doing Seed kits, as I listen to the entire collection.. but most times I prefer Rock music as I have more focus at times.. more specifically a library of my fave L’Arc~en~Ciel tunes.

I just listen to JAM Project’s most hotblooded songs. Over and over again. It’s helpful to have incredibly motivational songs when you might lose hope building something like the EX-S MG.

i dont listen to music, i just kindaq focus on the model, i guess im a bad multitasker
but i see what you mean by felling the vibe of the gundam by listening to the series themes
but my latest project im working on i have my friend building and painting it with melol

Wow, what a coinkidink.
I’m currently building the Gundam Wing Ver. Ka., and what should you happen to choose for the first picture of your post? Nice.
I too, like to listen to the Gunpla’s series music (I also have TONS of Gundam series’ BGMs, so there’s plenty to listen to). But in this case, I’ve been listening to the Italian version of Gundam Wing’s theme song.
And I don’t care what anyone says, it’s more appropriate a theme in title and substance than Just Communication (which is STILL a great theme, by the way) ever was.
FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE, GUNDAM!!

Usually have the series of the gundam i’m building playing on my PC so could glance at the screen to get ideas on the poses they’ll be doing. Other than that i just let my iTunes play, i remember completing my MG ZZ to l’arc~en~ciel and asian kungfu generation and the next week finishing my MG God gundam to Dr. Dre lol

I usually dont listen to music but i do watch episodes of Gundam while building Gundam models
September 4, 2010 at 4:34 PM
For me instead of playing the song with music player (or anything as such), I sing the song in my head. Usually the song that are related to Gundam series. ^^;

When I am cutting, sanding, preparing and assembling I’ll have fast paced songs on like M.O.V.E and Basshunter. When I am painting I do it in dead silence to minimise the chance of stuffing up.
September 4, 2010 at 6:27 PM
I love M.O.V.E. hahaha especially Noizy Tribe
September 5, 2010 at 12:35 AM
I love MOEV!
September 4, 2010 at 8:41 PM

September 5, 2010 at 12:34 AM
