Gunpla and Photography 2- Posing

Better late than never I supposed. I’ve finally finished the second installment of my “Gunpla and Photography” reboot. You can check out the article over at hobbylink.tv. Took new photos just for the article and trying to word what I was doing was tougher than I had originally thought ^^;. If there is anything unclear or if you have questions, please post on that article so I can look back on what I typed and explain.

I still have to disappear for just a bit longer; so like… my professors all have the exact same thoughts on their mind- “oh I’ll give you a take-home final so you can study for your other classes during finals week because I know some of you are overwhelmed :)”… and with that, I will be writing papers for the rest of the week. This is a case of when good intentions gone bad.  So yea… the last thing I have time for is blogging (which is more writing).

As for the 1/144 Nu Gundam… the weather has been especially cold since the last time I posted (rainy, icy, below 50* F) so topcoating is impossible… well, I can but I don’t want to risk frosting on the parts since it will be a PITA to clean and a waste to redo the topcoat.

Well, ’tis the season of giving so I got some things planned for December… stay tuned!

GO! Fin Funnel!

Finally got the very last and most repetitive part of the HGUC Nu Gundam done. Just for kicks, I counted the unnecessary: each fin funnel assembly has 28 nubs to clean. 28 x 6 = 168 nubs cleaned. 168 x 2 (from having to cut out the parts) = 336 times my side-cutter snipped plastic… just for the fin funnels! Incredible how many times your tools actually get used during the course of a single project. Anyway, let’s look at some pics…

Gunpla and Photography REBOOT!

Seeing how my last “Gunpla and Photography” post was like 9 months ago even though I’ve been meaning to continue it every now and then, I’m restarting the series to try to organize it a bit better this time around. Went to check out the old post to remind myself what I wrote and realized it was tl;dr so I’m also gonna cut down on the text while still getting my main points out. This will also help me refresh my thoughts as I update the whole post in general. Another reason for this reboot is because Gaijin Gunpla recently asked me to write about it on Hobbylink.tv so I thought “hey, why not? sounds cool” and here it is- Gunpla and Photography: Backdrop and Lighting, the first part of a series of posts detailing how I photo shoots my Gundam models. I apologize to those who may have already read the contents the first time around but I promise there will be new stuff I haven’t covered yet ^^;.

This time I’ll make sure to update on a more timely manner; I am working on the next post (Posing) and it should be up in about a week from now. Then another one after that in a week and so on until I’m finished with this series. If you like to photo shoot your Gundam models like I do, then I hope you can get something out of this series of articles that might be helpful to you. I’m no pro photographer though ^^;. It would be awesome if I can learn something from you as well!

HGUC Nu WISP 3

Many assignments are being due within a week so things will be a bit slow here; the weapons is all I managed to finished. Working on the Fin Funnels right now. Some more news in a bit. Anyway, so we watched “In the Mood for Love” in one of my classes and it left me feeling a bit lonely afterwards… ^^;. Such a beautiful movie… Check out the music and the sequence!

Yea… don’t ask me why we were watching a Chinese love movie in class >_>

Sukiyaki

Another week, another get-together for a great meal. this time I made sukiyaki for a few of my non-Japanese friends. Some might call out blasphemy at me for not using an iron pan but I didn’t have one around ^^;.

HGUC Nu Gundam WISP 2

Just a quick post showing you all how far I’ve gone since the last WISP; don’t worry… just because I am reviewing Kamen Rider stuff doesn’t mean I’ve neglected the Gunpla side. And yea…. I’m just gonna leave the yellow details off- tried painting it, looked terrible, scrapped it. All that is left are the Fin Funnels… the most repetitive part of the model.

So what do you say I spend the first half of each week on KR stuff and the second half on Gunpla? Cool with both worlds here? ^^

Linking to Your Gunpla Reviews

Don’t mind the photos… I just don’t know what to use for this subject ^^;. Do you review Gundam models on your blog? Are you on my blogroll? How about maybe a little more traffic to you? If you answered “yes” to any one of the aforementioned then I have a little something for you.

Kamen Rider W! W SHF Review!

In the spirit of W, here’s a DOUBLE Review of the SH Figuarts W CycloneJoker and the Machine Hardboilder! The two SH Figuarts are one single review! Two in one! *o*

Anyway, gotta go to school. Hope you enjoy the “W” images… ^^;

Kamen Rider W

Thanks to a few of you, I got bit by the Rider bug and went on a KR frenzy. Kamen Rider W was the first series I started on but the last to finish since I was waiting for it to end its run and I went on to watch other series instead (Kuuga, Agito, 555, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva, and Decade). Now, time to count up my thoughts!

Metal Build 1/100 00 Seven Sword

While this is not new news, I would like to talk about it since I find it very intriguing and my interest is highly piqued. Time to poke around and speculate! :D
