Gunpla Inochi Year 3

I am very late on this. Like almost four months late… but I’ll still talk about it anyway just because. So yea… I’ve been writing on this blog for three years already. Three years. I never would’ve thought this blog would lasted this long but here I am… going on to my fourth. Of course, I owe it to every one of you for regularly (be it daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) coming here. As always, I thank you for the support this whole time. Really, I mean it. Thank you.

This blog started during the ‘blogging bloom” period where just about everyone else also started blogging as well. Many quit blogging since then but many more remains to this day and more have joined to contribute their share to the community. The same also applies to the readers as well; as the person who runs this blog, I see all the comments and I do recognize and remember the names of my regulars over time. As time moves on, people move on. I don’t hear from some of my past readers anymore but I also hear from new voices as well. To think back and realize how time passes like this is just… I don’t even know the appropriate word for it. Even though I don’t know any of you by face, I believe there is a sense of camaraderie among all of us here after so long. I just wish those who I don’t hear from anymore (be it bloggers or readers) are doing well in life.

The overall contents here have always been more or less the same- reviews with a ton of photos. Nothing new. Even though I make tweaks here and there, my modeling skills are still extremely basic. Nothing fancy. That has always been my philosophy though- build the model to my satisfaction with the least amount of work required. Usually, the “least amount” can range from flat-out OOB to even painting the kit… ^^;. Still, I like to keep things on the understated side…

Well, here’s to another year *cheers*. I don’t know how much longer this place will last or if it will suddenly disappear into the abyss of the internet but for now… let’s just enjoy things the way they are now.

I’m actually quite happy with the way the blog is right now; I have a regular audience that isn’t small but also not big enough where it attracts trolls and other fanatics. This is quite ideal. Things are usually peaceful around here and I can always count on all of you for valuable feedbacks regarding anything Gundam/Gunpla… and food. Again, I thank you for that.

Now that I’m done rambling, let’s move onto something a little more exciting later… :)

Congrats Z. I visit your blog regularly because you are one of the few reviewers who puts the gundams in any sort of decent poses (what’s the point of building such badass mecha if you’re just going to have it in lame poses right?!)

Hope you continue with the awesome reviews!

    I love you too.

Grats on another year. I gotta say, I enjoy your reviews a lot. You really put the effort in to take some awesome snapshots of your models in action, and I have a hard time finding other sites with the same caliber photoshoots.
And as far as your modeling skills being basic, I’d say you’re definitely underrating yourself :). I know I’ve borrowed a few of your techniques for my own models. You might not do crazy mods or paint jobs but your stuff still looks great.

Hurrah for a fantastic year 3, but HOOAH to a new beginning of year 4. Ever since discovering your blog, you’ve been really helpful in showcasing models in their very best poses, even if the model is unpopular, you just find some way to make it amazing looking. That’s not something anyone can do, and kudos for you homeslice. TBH I was one of those people who started blogging but never stuck to it because of time constraints. I understand how much perserverence goes into keeping a blog up and while balancing it with school, you are one heck of a guy. Anyways, thank YOU for being a very helpful source of photodump of Gunpla, food, etc. Keep on going, and taste the stars, keep on growing, and raise the bar!

I still remember the first time I discovered your blog Z, it was… a while ago and it was stumbling on that Accguy omake and Wing Ver. Ka review.
This turned out to be the biggest turning point in my Gunpla career, learning new techniques which much improved the looks of Gunpla i build now (compared to my “straight out of the box with foil stickers everywhere” from before). It’s always exciting to come here and read your reviews, staring in wonder at your awesome Gunpla collection and deciding what my next model(s) would be, as well as feeling hungry over the food related posts.

Cheers, Z, for 3 fantastic years of Gunpla Inochi, and onwards to year 4 and beyond!

Well, I was kinda hoping you had a positive outlook on the blog to the point where you didn’t even consider the downside along with the upside in the life of this blog. Maybe I’m just feeling too gloomy an want to fight it off with something positive, so let’s start with this:

You’re right; nothing new with images and text on models and reviewing them. How much fun you made it–in a way–is. If I bother to take more photos and put more effort into it, my relatively new blog might remotely approach being half as interesting a read as yours. Let’s not forget that you were a big inspiration towards the push on me starting one this year, after all, and I’m sure that goes for others here, too.

Personally, though, I’d prefer an even smaller audience than the one you got, but personal preferences are such, and I nevertheless smile at just how successful you are here. You managed to make a good enough blog for readers to come on over and reread even when there was a serious lack of new posts for a bit of time. Plenty of followers knew you’d come back with even a simple “Hello, I’m still around!” post or side-blurb or something, and would wait patiently for an interesting take on an SRW game, upcoming gunpla, or a review of one.

Whether you feel motivated about the blog very well or just well enough (*shrug*), you have done a whole lot in three years with the premise of basic model-building, photographing, and reviewing. I like what you’ve done, and personally would hope for at least two more years so we can reach that five-year anniversary mark at least.

But try and have some fun for your weekend, at least. (“Go have some fun” seems to be getting as common a phrase as “two cents” for me, but it’s true that I feel it’s one of the most important things in life.)

cheers for a 3rd year streak. Hoping for more years to come. I just remember the days when I was just a passerby on your site, looking for a gunpla review and just for 3 years, your readers has just statred to grow out like a tree of wisdom, hehehe. As always, have fun, enjoy the hobby and ignore the haters.

  11. Aerith Says:

    Keep it up Z. 週何回かチェックしてるから。これからもよろしくな!

  12. h4mster Says:

Cheers for another three years to come ^^
The first time I read your blog was also three years ago, I thought that you are already a veteran blogger at that time LoL. It is always enjoyable to read and see the photos here :D

  13. GundamGazette Says:

    Huzzah Z!

Keep on doin’ what choo do man, I enjoy coming on the interwebs and seeing something interesting to read like your blog! Cheers!

  14. klk450 Says:

Been visiting this site for about 2 years now, so i’m not that late to the party. Congrats on the 3 years and hopefully many more to come!! This is one of the only websites that makes me always come back :D

  15. CVPhased Says:

    Wow… I though you were in the blogging ‘business’ much much longer… love your gunpla photos as well as their poses to the point that they actually inspire me to be more creative of them. Congrats on your 3rd year and may you have a long way to go and more gunplas to build. ^^;

  16. Point Blank Sniper Says:

like Siroh32 said, what’s with the gloomy feeling lol
this is one of the most awsome blogs i’ve been to.
like you said, no trolls or haters or anything. i think that partly comes from you being opinionated on whatever topic you discuss. and since you’re in charge of the place, nobody would bother to mess with you. the result is just a bunch of friendly discussion. if the author of a blog likes to be neutral, and has no presence in the comment sections, that’s when i think things get out of hand.
also, i’d like to say that a lot of times, when i google for something gundam related, especially pictures of kits, more than likely, your pics will be near or even at the top. you are probably more famous than you think. =D
anyway, just want you to know you are awsome, so i hope you keep up the good work =D

p.s. this reminds me, i don’t even know when my blog was started. certainly not on the day of the first post lol XD

  17. ErazEr Says:

wow 3 years never even thought you will last this long too

im also new to this blogging thing but I have to admit you are one of the many influences in my style of blogging whether a gunpla review of my own or me and my friends escapades to a local con, this blog helped me a lot so you deserve a thank you too

  18. Paliodor Says:

Congratz Z, I wish you another years of activity and a lot of great gunpla to build. Keep up the good work.

  19. X1 Says:

Man, it’s been a 2 years since I’ve started checking out your builds. And I want to thank you. :) Wishing you the best for this year, Z! Happy building!

  20. David Says:

Keep up the good work Z. I always visit your site regularly although this may be my first time commenting on your blog.
I like your subtle style in detailing. I also appreciate your least-amount-of-work detailing philosophy. This certainly made doing gunpla possible on my hectic schedule. Your reviews inspired me to go into gunpla as well.
