You will have to put in a little fine-rubbing effort to make sure you really get the decals in. Anything that goes on the plated parts are decals while the regular plastic gets some stickers. It's not hard though since the surfaces are really smooth.

I have a question.

I recently did the HG 1/144 Hyaku Shiki with Mega Buster Launcher, which I chose over the MG Hyaku Shiki because of the Mega Buster. I was disappointed with the colour(Mustard Yellow... or Hasbro/TomyTakara Gold, your choice), but I got over that. What I realy hated was the Transfers, which I kinda made a mess of, being my first time using them.

I am still wanting a chromed Hyaki Shiki, and the MG one is a good choice, but I was wondering, are the transfers on this easier to put on thanks to bigger surface or are there sticker versions aswell?

Thanks

Lelouch, I've never used anything from home depot before but I'm assuming your top coat is actually for house use instead of plastic? Mr. Top Coat, in a sense, actually smells kinda nice. Like cherry cough syrup or something... but yes, still has a hint of toxic xD. I spray outside so the fumes doesn't get to me and the smell on the parts go away in less than a minute. And maybe I should've also answered your question too... you should spray one layer (one "slash" of the stuff across the mode), let dry, then repeat. And I never had top coat ruin my paint before.

lelouch, what brand and type are you using??? You should follow this general layer chart for different coatings of paint in most cases:
acrylic > enamel > lacquer
The top coat you used may have ruined your paintjob because of the substance. I'm assuming it's lacquer, due to it being horrendous in smell, in which case it is a bad idea to spray on top of the other two types...

As for it falling down, it is wise to have it pinned to a skewer or clip, in pieces for a thorough job.

A good alternative you can find easily is Krylon. Their topcoats work well and the smell is not nearly as bad, especially if you use the low odor brand (all enamel based). I've used it successfully on my Sazabi, and it doesn't ruin the paint job (I used both tamiya acrylic and gundam paint panel liner marker).

well, I tried it out on my 1/200 scale fighting action 00 Gundam...the same one you have only not in Transam. I'm the type of person who hates stickers but always paints my models...I can't bear to see one of my models unpainted. I didn't use a NG model because their paint job was too good and i didn't want to ruin it if the topcoat went astray...and it did.

I sprayed it with the 00 standing up, but once I did it fell down. I just sprayed it when it was lying down and let it dry, then flipped it over and sprayed the back. However, the thing is that the top coat smeared and ruined the paint. However, it seems that only the Gundam Marker paint was affected. The paint tester paint wasn't. But I'm not using it again because it smells horrible...how can you bear to use that stuff? It smells TOXIC! I took it into my room for a check up and it stunk up my entire room...ugh...do all your models smell like that?

I'm just gonna throw my Fighting Action 00 into a box and lock it up in my closet or something cuz it smells horrible...however, for the most part it produced promising results, giving the un-ruined paint a nice clear coat. Now if only it would not smell like toxic acid...

I'm recently re-re-reading the review and comments here. First, about the photos (and I bring it up related to Z's comment about what he took the photos with):

I'm currently taking photos of my models and figures (I finished my GFF Wing and 1/144 Altron ver. EW model, working on GP02a) for my DA page. I tried at first taking photos with my camera, but for some reason (abuses with falling-to-ground accidents or bad batteries like usual, or something else), it keeps failing on me. I took some decent images with what I set up with (my little place for shooting photos is near a window with daylight out) and the resolution is huge, but given the failure, I'm forced to try with my camera phone.
Now your photos here are not like your later images, yeah, but they're actually not so bad. And sometimes with what we have around, we have to make good with, and I don't think you have bad images here. Maybe I'm easy to please; maybe images have to be good as those close-up ones of GFF Wing I linked to months back, but I still think these aren't bad.

I wouldn't mind new images still, if only to see how you'd take photos of this GFF now and if you'd consider transforming it to the Katoki-esque bird mode, if not the Okawara-esque transformation described by your current review. I've yet to with mine, and with minor deformities present with the backpack, I don't know if I would soon or if I'll try being exceedingly careful about it...

And as to your review that I've re-re-read, I noticed another problem (that I should've picked up earlier): Unless you meant the then-near future at the time of its debut, your statement here about GFF Wing being the only non-UC GFF is inaccurate (even if you discount the [fill-in-the-blank] Region GFF lineups and GFF past the date of your review--June 2, 2008). Unless you can convincingly state that the God Gundam and Nobel/Sailor V Gundam GFF as well as the Gundam X/GX Divider/GX-Bit conversion parts GFF are Universal Century GFFs. :P (You can say it's the only After Colony GFF.)
