Remember when this blog used to be a “home look” on Gunplas AND GFF? It seems like the GFF section is need of some maintenance and blog love and sooo… here’s a much needed complete re-review (with all-new photos) of the GFF Wing Gundam Early Type (Ver. Ka). This is also a great way to introduce it to those who never knew such a page/section ever existed on this blog. Eventually, I’ll start doing re-reviews (mainly taking new photos) of other GFF and older models too so their pages are a little more uniform with my current review format with the more recent models. I also owe you the following: HG 1/144 Seravee review, MG Acguy review, and Turn A battle. Depending on my free time, I’ll either work on Seravee or the battle photoshoot first…

C’mon Bandai… I know I bash you a lot and all but since I know you probably want my money, then you would not delay releasing a MG Assault Buster V2 Gundam right ?!  There are others who share my sentiments too! :D :D :D

Well, guess I kinda went ahead and finished the review through Safari as wordpress is all weird on firefox at the moment. So finally, here is the MG Turn A’s review. At this rate, I am still good with one review per month xD. Oh yea, I’ve cut back on the number of photos too so hopefully that’ll ease up the task of scrolling down for some of you- There is only 99 images this time around ^^;. I consider this review to be incomplete at the moment though as there’s still more things I’d like to add but that have to be until I am free from the wraith of school though. So for now, hope you all enjoy this one for now ^^.

Next project be the R-2 of Gundams.

Not exactly the nicest thing to say about a yet-t0-be-released Gunpla but those are my exact words right now. I am officially canceling my pre-order for this thing. What is my issue with it? It is exactly what you see above. The wing binders(?) cannot rotate! How are you supposed to make dashing/striking poses if those can’t move?! Well, I supposed you sorta can… but it obviously wouldn’t look as dramatic/dynamic.

So I can’t pose the PG 00 Raiser like its HG 1/144 counterpart. Wow. From what I see, this model is basically a stationary suit (as opposed to MOBILE suit har har). This isn’t the only thing that ticked me off… the proportions of the PG model also seems a bit odd. The lower half of the body seems wayyy more muscular than the top… and the huge exposed rectangular waist makes it even more apparent… Take a look to see what I mean:

Ehhh… not gonna spend ~$300 on something that even a professionally completed model can’t impress me. As for the MG Victory…

Hope you don’t mind if I bash on this model yet again. Honestly, I was hoping some more preview images and mag scans might lighten up my view on this model but that’s not the case. There’s plain… and then there’s damn vanilla plain. It doesn’t even look good standing there (no GFF stance). Okay, designs aside (let’s ignore how boring it looks)… let’s just talk about the way it stands. First off, for comparison’s sake…

The GP03S Stamen. Also designed by Katoki. Also has that simple “bored” look to it BUT it does a great job just standing there (my opinion). Like it looks strong just standing there. The V… not so much. Doesn’t look very confident… kinda wimpy. Maybe the person didn’t do a good job at posing the model (benefit of the doubt) but as I observe it a little longer… I noticed something…  V’s feet aren’t exactly flat on the table as if there aren’t enough ankle movement to allow it to be completely on the ground. I noticed this with the first announcement photos as well during that whachamacallit show. So not only is the MG V yawn-inducing but also can’t do a proper “GFF stance”… unlike ALL the other MGUC models o_O. No… I wouldn’t judge it that far. Not yet anyway.

*If you are slightly confused by “GFF Stance”, then just look at any Gundam Fix Figurations and the way they just simply stand there… that stance. It’s so simple yet evokes a sense of coolness and… whatever positive thing I can’t think of to describe it at the moment.

I apologize for making a bashful post especially after a long absence but I don’t think my points are entirely invalid here as well ^^;. Honestly, I would like to be proved wrong (who wouldn’t want Gunplas to be awesome instead?) I think being stressed out affects one’s mood and perspective to a certain degree also methinks…

I’ll probably finally have a chance to work on Turn A’s photoshoot tomorrow…

A random post for today to look at a couple of things I’ve acquired over the week ^^.

Are you a big fan of food that is of the hot and spicy variety? I am but got recommended to cut back on them completely for awhile… that won’t be happening ^^;. One of my friends introduced me to Da’ Bomb sauce and damn… it’s HOT. Like you almost have to be a M to like the pain from it xD. This isn’t one of your garden-variety hot sauce since it has the potential to really send you to the hospital if misused (aka took it directly). It is rated at 119,700 scoville units (habanero level there). A few drops into a can of chili and your mouth can be hurtin’ (and probably the other end later on). Very efficient. Good stuff. Now on to other things…

Got a copy of the latest Dengeki Hobby with the Unicorn goody earlier this week ^^

Didn’t bother to put it together though… too lazy >_>. Now just skimping through the mag a little…

Even though it’s a custom-made model, this could almost pass for the inevitable MG Exia Avalanche from Bandai in the future xD

Can anyone explain this part to me? Two Red Frames? And isn’t that the master who created the Gerbera Straight? ^^

For the first time ever, I am actually on time with a given deadline. I said in my other post that I would finish Turn A by Sunday… and completed I did ^^. Now on to photoshooting and writing up the review. I’ll point out that I won’t even need to top coat this model since it looks oh so damn good as is (a point I’d like to glorify). The level of shininess is equivalent to that of a semi-gloss top coat. Now on to the main purpose of this post: The sexy legs!

Look at those curves! o_o I don’t know how to describe it but… they sorta look like blades? The swoops just gives it a really dynamic look when posing :D The panel and seam lines, like the arms, are also nicely hidden so you just get smoothness from top to bottom.

Reflective eyes are still <3. Review to be complete as soon as I have the time.

One sad thing I found out is… unfortunately, my Hasegawa base doesn’t work at all with Turn A so I need to use my other bases for aerial shots… Ugh. I need to finish homework (essay) so I’ll disappear now. I apologize for not being able to reply to anything at this point ^^;.

Just saw this over at Ngee Khiong who picked it up fom Ameblo. Seravee 10 Swords… along with all the cannons. Best of both worlds. Who cares if it can’t really move on Earth from carrying three other Gundams on its back >_>. You can never go wrong looking badass with more swords! Infinite Justice and Exia will be jealous…

剣万歳～！

Let’s put our differences in opinion of Turn A aside for a moment and just admire the model’s beauty ^^;. It is only after assembling this thing halfway do I finally realize how MUCH MORE bizarre of a design this Gundam is. Not to to mention how much engineering effort Bandai has put into this model. Assembly is straight to the point without excess parts for the sake of having more parts to put together. This model is easy to build but it does not skimp on anything at all. Seam lines and nubs are intentionally well hidden. The range of articulation is wide and unrestricted. And… I’ll save the rest for the full review xD. Let’s move on to the next point…

The panel lines. Simply bewildering. I didn’t know how to decide on where to give lines to so I ended up panel lining everything ^^;. This is almost like MC Escher stuff here. A maze of different elevations and sides with tunnels of different widths. haha… I’m talking too much. Anyway, I’m hoping to finish this model by…. ohhh, maybe Sunday if I’m free enough ^^;. I just have the legs and armaments to go!

This is what I have of the Turn A so far. This is indeed one sexy model. I was skeptical about applying decal on the forehead for the “Turn A” mark so I just handbrush Tamiya Clear Green in. I LOVE how Bandai designed the eyes for this model- the eyes are clear yellow with the gray “mask” in front of it (so no hassle of eye stickers nor painting), and silver backing behind the eyes to make it reflective. That’s like PG stuff there. Why don’t Bandai do this more often?! Oh yea, let’s stop calling it the mustache… I think V-Tusk sounds a lot better ^^;. This is actually a pretty easy model to build and I could finish it quicker if it I didn’t have so much time constraint… ^^;

Health Condition and Life History

Went to the doc last week and she said I might have a mild case of Bronchitis… hence I am still coughing for the third week straight. Even though I’ve been on medication for a week, the cough still persists albeit less often and severe. Well, the cough itself might not be that bad now but it seems I’ve bruised some muscle in my body from it -_-; (my ribcages freakin’ HURTS). I don’t dare to let out hard coughs now ^^;

I was talking to my mom the other day and made the joke of how I thought Dragons were supposed to full of health, and her reply was “Not you. You’ve always been a sickly child since you were born”. Wut? She then told me how I was during the years before I realize myself. Apparently, I was born at home and not in a hospital because my Grandma wouldn’t let my mom go due to some stupid FengSui shit belief (風水; superstitious stuff) going on that day. Since there was no one at the time knows how to be a midwife and my mom didn’t have the strength (“malnourished” from what I can translate) to deliver me, she and I could’ve almost died -_-;. Anyway, when I was born at last… I weighed less than six pounds o_o (We didn’t have much to eat back then so go figure). According to my mom, I always get sick. She needed to take me to the doc like almost every week… sometimes twice a week. If I wasn’t having a fever, then I would have like stomach problems, or some other things. Damn… I didn’t know my health was THAT bad >_>;. Guess I’m really not has healthy as I thought myself to be ^^;. Well, it is always nice to know more about yourself… especially about the times you don’t even know who you are xD.

There was a Paypal promotion going on with HLJ some weeks ago where they offered free EMS shipping if paying with Paypal. I didn’t see anything I wanted at first (because so many things were out) so I didn’t give care about the promo afterward. Come the last hour (literally) of the promotion, I gave in to yet another impulse buy and picked up Seravee ^^; after checking HLJ for the last time. I wanted to pick up Arios GNWHWYHWHWH/whatever and Cherudim GNWTHWTF/whatever too but they were out. I’ve always liked Seravee and Tieria is just <3.
