Gunpla Chat 09

Compared to its HG boxart and other MG boxarts such as the 00 Raiser, Epyon, and DSH, the 7Sword boxart looks… disappointly mundane. Kinda unexciting. Unfitting. But of course, the boxart can be the most boring thing in the world and it wouldn’t matter because we all know just how awesome 7S is, right? ^^.

RX-78-2 Line-Up

Once the Gundam is mass produced…

00 Raiser Seven Sword

Hmm… you know what… maybe I do have a reason to pick up the MG 00 Raiser afterall… damn…

RX-78-2 Gundam

I’ve just finished assembling this model (still need to topcoat) and came away pretty impressed with the overall details on it despite its small size. Heck, it has more details and panel lines than many of the MGs you see coming out today! My hand was actually aching a bit from holding the tiny parts as I try to clean the nubs and panel line them. Oh man are the parts tiny! Still, it’s an awesome model. At first impression, I thought the model would be pretty fragile but I think it feels very solid so far.

It might be an RX-78-2, but this model looks better than the rest I’d say. I’m not gonna talk too much now; I’ll save the rest for the actual review which should be out in a few days so look forward to it. No joke; this is for real. Real Gundam. Real model. Real details. Real awesome. Real… hmm…

Non-Gunpla Loot

Some of the stuff that came this week… and nothing Gundam related…

Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme Vs.

Honestly, I have never played any of the “Gundam Vs.” games before. Like the SEED ZAFT vs. EF, Gundam Vs. Gundam NEXT, and the likes so at this point, this game looks the same like all the rest. Part of the reason for me avoiding these Gundam games is that I still have the mentality that Bandai is terrible at making games that has more substance than just solely for “fan appeal purposes”. Granted that mentality of mine is almost a decade old now so it’s time I finally give Bandai another chance and pick up this game when it comes out. At first, I was all moaning and groaning about the price after exchange rate and shipping (~$100)… then it hit me that my friend is going back to Japan for vacation this winter break so I’ll just ask him to pick me up a copy before he comes back ^^;. This way I don’t have to pay shipping and probably get a more favorable exchange rate with him than with the economy. Haha sweet. The downside is that school will be starting soon by the time he gets back >_>. Oh well.

Astray Red Frame w/ 150 m Gerbera Straight sold me on this game!

“tis a very good year for Fighting Gamers…

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 at TGS ’11

As an avid Capcom FG player since STREET FIGHTER II, there is so much to hype about UMvC3 that November just can’t come fast enough! I don’t have a PS3 yet but I’ll still get this game… and play it at my friend’s house for the time being xD. $40 for this is amazing! There’s also Dai-2-Ji SRW OGS, SRWZ2.2, and Gundam Extreme Vs… ’tis a good year for Sony games. I’m just gonna assume most of you know what the basic premise of UMvC3 is about (kick your opponent’s ass) and just get straight to the point: new character reveals at this year’s Tokyo Game Show.

HG Sergei’s Tieren Review

Now that the series of food posts are done with, let’s go right back into Gunpla. I am finally getting back the hang of building and reviewing gunpla, shaking off most of the rust so things should start picking up shortly again. It’s not much but here’s a good start- A review for the HG 1/144 Sergei’s Tieren Taozi (All Region Type), complete with an omake. Enjoy! :)

My next project should be real good I hope…
