Preview: MG W FangJoker

Normally, I don’t show you my finished product until the review. However, I am overly excited about the result (not to mention that I actually finally completed a model…) that I just gotta show you all before reviewing it (which I am working on as we speak) ^^;. Now that the hands are “fixed”, I can finally say…

Crossbone WISP: Head and Body

IMG_8242IMG_8237

Some shots of my progress so far. Yes, I know they don’t look like much now and yes, they are very shiny but these are shots before “finalization” of the parts which you will all see when I’m done with the review :). It’s nothing special really but the irony of it is still worth hiding… xD

IMG_8246

Here’s me being an idiot; I cut out the wrong head armor pieces (didn’t look in the manual), took 20 minutes to paint in the stripes THEN realized I cut out the wrong one xD. So I had to cut out the actual one and then spend another good 30 minutes painting in the “scars” for that one. It only takes five minutes to get the paint in but the meticulous work I have to do was a PITA. You know… making sure the paint is even, no “bleeding”, the layers are the same… and I think I could work on it some more if I still give a damn later, seeing how I did a better job on Ver. Ka’s head instead. Remember, it is all the finer details together that makes the Gundam model looks good overall ^^;.

IMG_8245

The most badass face out of a Gundam. After seeing this face, I don’t think I could ever go back to that mellow look. This is just so much more sinister xD.

BEST Fix EVER, Bandai!

IMG_8183

I’m not kidding. After one of you told me that the Mk-II AEUG Ver. doesn’t have a rotating waist, I was far from enthusiastic about working on this model. I went to check out other modelers’ MK-II AEUG Ver. to confirm…and yup, it is unfortunately so. I was even bent on chewing it and Bandai out for it in the review. When I got to the waist unit, I just snipped off all the parts without looking at the manual because it was the last step. At first, I was a bit baffled at why the fitment of parts doesn’t make sense compared to the manual then I noticed Bandai missed a step where the two upper waist pieces connect to the bottom…

IMG_8173

I thought it was silly of Bandai to left out some instructions but then after another look at parts again, it finally hit me…

MY MG GUNDAM MK-II 2.0 AEUG VER. ACTUALLY HAS A ROTATING WAIST!!! My parts are different than those in the manual and so I went to check on Dalong’s MK-II AEUG parts runner…

And you can see that Dalong’s MK-II has the upper waist connected (which prevents the rotation) while mine are separated.

YESSS!! THANK YOU BANDAI!!! hahah now I actually like this model XD. I don’t know nor do I care if this was a manufacturing/packaging mistake or if Bandai decided to update all future AEUG MK-II 2.0 runner F’s after the Titan’s release because this is GREAT! So now… for all I know, this could possibly be a MG Gundam MK-II 2.0 Titans Ver. AEUG Ver. >____>. Now if only Bandai will make the same mistake with the 1/100 00-Raiser…

*ahem* now that I’m done with the model… it is time to start the photoshoot and its review is just right around the corner…

MG Sword Impulse…

Gundam GP03S Review

img_2774

It’s back to the basics. No fancy painting, no top coating. Just panel lines and a cutter is all it takes. Check out the review here or go under the “Master Grade” tab as usual.

MG Sinanju- The Complete Review

FINALLY! It is done! After three months! I thank you all for your patience. Okay, enough chitchat. Here’s the full review page! Enjoy!

MG Sinanju WISP- Completed Model

img_0912

This is it. Take a good look. A home look. This is how the MG Sinanju looks like out of the box (minus the gold obviously) before I infest it with 300+ of Katoki’s signature senseless decals and drown it in top coat. This will be the last WISP post for Sinanju as I won’t be updating on my decaling progress so the next Sinanju-related post will be the final review everyone’s been waiting for ^^;. Then again…

img_0893img_0899img_0891img_0896

Sinanju has a powerful and solid stance. Don’t think I’ll ever need to worry about it falling or something. It has plenty of weight to keep it planted.

img_0906img_0907img_0909img_0911

Just a few subtle action poses. Can’t show off everything now otherwise I won’t have anything left for the real photoshoot ^^;. Enjoy!

MG Sinanju WISP- Actual Height

Here’s a more meaningful WISP than last time. Let’s check out the height of this monster!

img_7775

Sinanju’s height is almost exactly equal to Unicorn’s Destroy Mode height- it’s almost impossible to tell which one is really taller (it’s Sinanju in case you wanna know)! I think this would make Sinanju the first tallest MG that can still pose (Ex-S, Perfect Ziong, Sazabi are limited to just standing).

img_7769img_7773img_7767

The legs are very solid and very well engineered. Nothing unnecessary and all sliding parts serve a real function in its articulation. Very impressive. The nub marks are pretty bad on the legs as they are thick, usually on spots that curves or worse… in such a spot and angle where it is hard to clip off with the right hand. Overall, it still doesn’t show as bad but it was tiring (and futile) trying to clean them off without messing up a little.

I’m almost finish! Just the backpack and weapons to go then it’s on to stage 2! Decals… *shudders*
